CORONA, CA (September 29, 2009) – Officials of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL have announced that the series will return for the DART Winternationals at the “Clay by the Bay” in 2010.

 

The week-long event for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will kick off with a special practice session on Sunday Night, January 31 followed by six straight nights of dirt late model racing competition, beginning on Monday Night, February 1^st.

 

“We are pleased to tell everyone that the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be back at East Bay for the Winternationals in 2010, said Todd Hutto, of 2VHL Promotions who promotes the 1/3^rd mile facility.  “Advanced ticket information will be available on our website in the near future, we look forward to seeing the fans, race teams and sponsors back at East Bay next year for some of the best late model racing you will find anywhere,” said Hutto.

 

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series first sanctioned the Winternationals in 2005. In 2009, the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR was crowned the ’09 DART Winternationals Champion and Dennis Erb Jr of Carpentersville, IL took the $12,000 to win finale for his first ever Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory. The event was taped by the SPEED Channel.

 

Ritchie Lewis, Series Director for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series says that the payoff and tire rules will be announced in the coming weeks.  “Again, we invite everyone down to East Bay in 2010; I know we are looking forward to kicking off our season once again at the famed event, which is known for its great hospitality, sunshine, food, and racing action.”
